Poultry in motion

I think this work looks as though the hen is conjuring up a rooster out of the wax. Within the paper on the panel is a sewn drawn image I did of the autumn woods. It all invokes a feeling of motion. Time does not stand still; neither for the hen, nor with the seasons.
Today I take my son to look at a couple colleges and I wonder at the pace of the world. My baby is more and more a man.

  1. Tilly, I have just spent some time looking at your very interesting work. I have not really come across "encaustic" painting before and you are getting the most beautiful subtle colour variations. The way you have created the hen in the recent painting for instance and seated her in the background is just beautiful. Also you are to be congratulated on doing your own thing and concentrating on your own individuality. Great work!

  2. Thank you. If you have a chance to get to Kingston Ny you should visit the sweet factory of R&F. They do amazing things there and are generous with information. I hope to work with them again in the future.
