One of my classes got hungry for realism

 So we set up the storage closet with a high contrasting light source and used a camera to capture- and flatten the dimensional self portraits. With charcoal and blending stumps the kids worked on their likeness as if it was an abstraction. All in all they are pleased and proud. Much of the work has already been posted on their social networks.










It is the sort of artwork that empowers the student and maybe gives them an idea of how shading, not cartoon edges, form a nose. (maybe not)
