Come out and play in waxed paper

This 9 x 6 inch sheet of paper was dipped and saturated with wax so that the pulp became transparent and the inclusions became visible. I love experimenting in new materials and the way it helps me express fresh and personal visions... such as the ferns I plucked from outside the door combined with an image of an inviting hand.
The title comes from a line of music visible within the image.
Would you like to take a walk in the woods?

  1. Hey, Tilly

Encaustic seems to be a natural medium for you! Exciting new images! Your piece with the moose reminds me of the work of Maine artist Susan Amons. I'll try to find some of her work on-line to share with you.
