Self portrait a la Warhol |
The mixed media students have been printing using positive and negative mylar "masks" and rolled ink to create colorful backgrounds to a lively grid of selfies. They learned to apply acrylic skins made from using acrylic gel medium on photocopies of themselves. The repetition and the pop in colors reminds us of the printing output by Warhol's factory. Everybody, Warhol says, "gets 15 seconds of fame". My classroom is looking like the paparazzi are all over the place!
