ENCAUSTIC workshop

I have to apologize for not posting work- I have been away at a WSW art workshop- paper-making and encaustic! Here is a late night sneak peak- I have two more days and promise then I will post some of the new works- though, I must add a disclaimer: I think there is a steep learning curve- the media is very challenging for me.

Millerton farmers market

Isn't this a nifty little bag? Perhaps I am partial because it is printed with the logo I created for the local farmers market- which, by the way, runs Saturdays from 10-2. Bags are for sale all around town and at the market for $4. Remember to buy local- it is the only way to recession-proof your community, your life.

Wild flowers

I love the wild flowers this time of year. They just blanket the countryside in a tapestry of floral magnitude... bringing me a wealth of visual and emotional memories.
My nieces and I picked flowers along our road in the early morning. It is wonderful having time with family. I have one sister's children with me and the Queen Anne's lace traditionally reminds me of another sister. There wasn't a lot of time for the painting (we got hungry and needed to swim)- so I am not convinced its is finished- when I get a chance to look at it again, I may play some more in the background and in the details. Feel free to let me know what you think.
