The local art festival

On one side I had Joan Marchell, neighbor and fellow farm painter and on the other side I had Gian Lodevole. He grew up with my son, and at one time he took a summer art class in my studio...years ago. It was great to see him work the professional art circuit.
I was so lucky to have use of Rosemary Barrett's tent and Joan Levitt's walls. Rosemary set up her sculptures in the front and together we had a fine social time of it! Another young artist helped me through out the day- Alison Carpenter.
The sales numbers were lower that hoped, but really I feel so blessed with friends, family, and fellow artists connecting, that I cannot complain one bit! Thank you for stopping by yesterday and making the day such a great time...And thank you Theresa, Brett, Cindy, Mary Anne, and Lars for trading your hard earned cash for one of my paintings. I hope they make happy homes.

come see me this Saturday!

Sharon on the Green Arts and Crafts Fair. August 7th, 10-5 all day Saturday.... Booth 35

I have had no time to promote... My goal is to sell, sell, sell... many works at bargain prices.
There will be work hanging, and unframed in bins. My friend Rosemary will be there with her sculpture as well. My friend Joan will be showing her farm paintings in a booth next to me. Come by and see us if you can! My booth (#38) is practically in the middle of the strip, halfway between one end and the other.

Above all, have an inspired weekend.
Don't you just love summer?

Student shoes II

The assignment was to have three good drawings of a shoe, a dynamic composition, and work within a triad color relationship. The ink splatters were just for fun. I thought they should learn how to CONTROL splats, rather than just fling them... and the kids seemed very pleased with the results.

Bird Song III

This one seems to be either singing it's mate in, or singing it's mate out. I had a great headline- won't tell you what it said- but I chopped it up and used it as a textural element rather than a literal one. Like it?
