Lessons of life to be found with in a nature morte.
It's easy to find these materials around the home...
You don't need top of the line materials to make a work of art.
Here are some takes from class and through Alberti's veil.
It's all about relationships... fitting one shape next to the other- defining the space, and not crying over spilled coffee.
These are really great, Tilly! Are you enjoying teaching?
ReplyDeleteYES! LOTS.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic! Obviously, the students have a fabulous teacher! I like your Christmas painting above, beautiful, but a bit sad... Nothing wrong with celebrating late - we've had to do that a number of times - and it feels a little less rushed when we do! One year we didn't do presents because we were saving up for a trip. We played old fashioned board games and we did spend money on going to the movies (but no popcorn or snacks). The kids say it was the best Xmas. (except for the one when they got the expensive electronics! ;) ...
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret. I love your story too
ReplyDeleteDaphné quoted looking at your vanities: "J'ai été ce que tu es, et tu seras ce que je suis..." seen in a church in Naples last Spring.
ReplyDeleteShe thought your Xmas painting very moving.
We will all think of you before, during and after.
